Another reason employees love HotSchedules is for automatic shift releases and pickups. Suppose your employees know they want to work or release a shift on a specific day. In that case, automatic shift pickup or release will automatically pick up shifts or unload them as that time slot becomes available. To create a new automatic pickup, click the plus button on the bottom right corner. They can also set up some parameters when they’d like to automatically pick up a shift, how much buffer room they want before or after the time slot they designate, and click done, and the new auto pick up rule will appear.

To set up auto release, they just go through the same process but select auto release instead.
